Wk 17

This week we went to Chicago for work and play. My mommy presented a poster at a conference, and uncle Allen presented his liver at the annual WhiskyFest. Daddy, aunt Kate, cousin Adelle, and grandma Ann came along for all the fun. Here are grandma and  me enjoying some time at the Field Musuem.
Time with my daddy at the Field Museum cafeteria
We spent a bit of time at this exhibit of modern american history.  Fascinating to view 21st century formica tables with sodas and the tired feet of our ancestors    Or at least my daddy kept making some stupid joke to that effect. Trees en route from the Hyatt Regency hotel to the Field Museum
Lovely tulips
Harbingers of spring!
Great view of the city and the train
Scenes from downtown Chicago
My mommy loves how the yellow flowers contrast with the juxtaposittion of the concrete.  I appreciate how she frame the photo with the trash can and a homeless person.    Ahhh,  city life!
This garden had at least twenty of these trees - loved their shape
Daffodils!
I wanted to re-enact the scene from Ferris Bueller here,   but was vetoed.    The only art we stopped for were these lions.
Walking through the city
Adelle would not be denied in getting her morning coffee fix!
Give me that, mommy!
We stopped a family photo,  but I am clearly panicked abouy passy.
Ok,  that's all better.   But I dont know why they kept puttinga bib on me.
Yea!   more attentio from my adoring fans.
I got to catch up on my quality time with grandma.
I don't see what the big deal was here! I just had  little upset tummy, people.   We went out for Indian food and I only chucked at least 6 times. This is a good example of the wreckage... notice my smirk.  tee hee!
The mohawk - Adelle style!
Did I do that?
Yes, that was me.   I got daddy's pants about 2 minues before this one.
I really like the art-deco style of the WGN tower and the Tribune building.
Mommy did a good job getting some pics of skyline
Love this angle
Mom and Dad enjoying lunch and McCormick and Schmick's
It looks like Dad and Grandma are enjoying some white wine over lunch!   I didn't know my daddy was interested in such things.
Oh, man!   I really want to get a bit of that deep dish Chicago style pizza!
Me with mom at Harry Caray's restaurant.  She is sampling the toasted rav.  Yum.
For some reason,  my daddy ordered a burger with Kalamatta olives.   It would not be recommended by this critic.  Some of my big smiles cause me to stick out my tongue.
A more serious look,   I cal this one "Blue Steel"
iI am a happy baby with all this attention....
but then it wears me out.
We took the Amtrak to Chicago! It was a lot of fun!
Mom and Hayden playing
Tummy time devolved to a time for rest
Funny boy
What are you lookin at?
I like hanging out with Mommy in the bumbo
As you can see our kitchen is getting redone -so excited that we are putting new countertops in!
Something very exciting must be going on.. His smile is huge - he also laughs now which is SO cute!
